Big Bad Wolf

This week, we have been reading more traditional tales. We have listened to Little Red Riding Hood and some of us pretend to be her, answering questions that other children in the class asked.
We have used words and phrases to describe the Big Bad Wolf and then wrote a WANTED poster to try and catch him.

In maths we had great fun using a tens frame:
You have 10 squares - you can use it to count numbers and show numbers with a counter in each square - Theo
You have to put different coloured counters in the squares - Lucas

On Monday, it is the school's 50th birthday, so this week we  used photographs to find similarities and differences between school now and in the olden days.
They had a role play then too - Lyla
The library was in the hall - Mollie
There used to be different tables, but they were the same shape - Poppy
There was no Treetops - Ross
They had wooden bins, now they are metal - Sophia

This week's Star Award goes to Connie for developing her independence an taking responsibility for her learning. We;; done, Connie.

James is our Learning Owl this week - he works independently and perseveres when he finds things tricky. He listens well and works well with others. Well done James. Have a good weekend with Snowy!

This weekend, our home learning is to record any signs of autumn we have seen. We've also brought home envelopes to decorate for Friday's Harvest Festival. We are collecting donations for Herts Young Homeless.
