Beech's School Trip

Yesterday, we went on a great trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum. We went on a coach to get there.
First, we went into the woods, where we listened to another version of the Three Little Pigs. Then, we got into groups and built some houses.
One group used straw, another used sticks and the last group used bricks. We worked really well together, Indie was a great leader- explaining what her group needed to collect and Ben and Theo were brilliant engineers and talked about how to build the houses. We tried to blow the houses down but they were too strong.

Mrs Turner and her baby came to meet us.

We made wolf scarers using clay. We used sticks, leaves and berries as decoration. There are some pictures on the website.

Back at school....
In music, we learnt a rap about the Three Little Pigs. We had to find some instruments to play during the rap.
We listened to the Three Little Wolves an the Big Bad Pig. Then we talked about how it was different to the Three Little Pigs.

Today, we have been exploring different materials to make our own house for a little pig. Some of us worked independently and some worked together. We used different materials like art straws, pipe cleaners, Lego and Polydron.

Our Learning Owl this week is Indie - she's shown some great problem solving skills, been a good leader and was confident with the ideas she had about building - at school and on our trip. Well done, Indie, have a great weekend with Snowy.

Thomas was given the Star Award this week for always following the class rules- in school and on our trip. What a great role model you were, Thomas. Well done!

Our home learning this week is to create a piece of bunting to help celebrate the school's 50th birthday.
